I have a BA degree in Clinical Psychology and Pre-Med and a Masters Degree in School Administration. I am certified in Special Education and elementary education K-8.
I taught in Radnor Township School District for 35 years. I taught special needs children in emotional support classes for fifteen years at the elementary and middle school levels. During that time I also served as Assistant Principal and Acting Principal of the Rosemont Elementary School.
I taught classes in Science at the Middle School level for 20 years. During that time I taught, on average, 120 children each day, thirty to forty percent of whom had IEP’s for special learning needs. The children I taught ranged from borderline mentally retarded to gifted in ability. I was responsible for making complex and abstract concepts contained within the curriculum understandable for a wide range of learning styles and abilities. As a result of my educational back ground I have attended many IEP and ISPT meetings for clients in an outpatient setting.
I have been Chairman of the Science Department for eight years, Chairman of the Facilities Committee for ten years and a liaison to the School Board for new building construction for four years.
Since my retirement in 2005 I have been a Therapist and Behavior Specialist Consultant for a local Behavorial Health Rehabilation Service company. In 2009 I began work at Child and Adolescent Counseling Services as an Out Patient Therapist. My duties have included providing family, couples and individual psycho-therapy to clients in the school, office and home settings. I have experience in reunification therapy and co-parenting issues as I have worked with everyone in the family in their home environment. Being able to have the privilege of being invited into client's homes has given me experience and insight into the different dynamics of working with a wide range of families. My clinical expertise includes working with separated and divorce family systems. Additionally, I am a monitor providing Therapuetic Supervised Custody for court ordered cases. I also attend court cases and I am considered an expert witness. Finally, at our agency we have a collaborative approach and I have worked with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, lawyers and counselors to develop and implement medically necessary psycho-therapies and supervised custody for clients and their families.
